KIA’s Pursuit to launch their new facelift Carens seems to be ready to reach its surmise soon, the Carens update that the brand has been planning to launch had been spotted a few times; but none of the inputs were confirmed. But this time around, KIA has confirmed the launch of the new facelift under the new moniker Clavis. A short teaser which has been uploaded by KIA on their YouTube channel has revealed that the new Clavis- updated Carens is ready for launch. The new face-lift would be sold under the name Clavis along with the existing model (Carens) of the MPV.
Details Revealed In The Teaser
While the teaser has been cut short to reveal only the most essential details, a few notable mentions would be the warning for collision on the MID which revealed that the car would be equipped with level two ADAS suite similar to that of the KIA Syros. Beyond the collision warning, we could also notice the revamped front fascia DRL’s of the car that continue along the bonnet line quite similarly to those we have seen on Mahindra BE6. In the teaser, the car is seen being halted by a mystic figure which could be a mascot for the Clavis brand in the future. Clavis in Latin means a KEY- and surely enough the new car could be a key for KIA into a new dynamic of dominating sales.
New Line Up
The Clavis would be positioned above the Carens and would be sold alongside its predecessor. For users who seek a more optimum blend of new and advanced features and technologies the Clavis would be the perfect option. The Clavis is expected to be upgraded with new Level 2 (ADAS), 360 degree surround camera, Panoramic Sunroof, updated Dashboard and new Centre Console Layout along with Dual 10.25 – Inch screens. KIA Carens, would further be equipped with ventilated seats , wireless phone charging, ambient lighting and other new features as well.
New Powertrain options
Its possible that KIA Clavis might be equipped with the same engine options as we have seen on the previous gen vehicle. Beyond those engines it is possible that it might further be equipped with a HYBRID powertrain option. Engines that are currently on offer on the older Carens are 1.5L NA Petrol Engine, 1.5 Turbo Petrol Engine and a 1.5 Diesel Engine . The Clavis would break cover on May 8th and would be priced above the Carens which ranges from Rs 10.60 Lakh to Rs 19 lakh.
