New Delhi: Kia India has silently removed its MPV, the Kia Carnival, from its official website. The company did not update its flagship model according to the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms, which is why the car has been discontinued. It is said that the company might launch a new-generation model of this car next year.
To recall, Kia India launched the Carnival MPV three years ago in 2020. After running on Indian roads for three years, this car will no longer be available for sale. According to information emerging from media reports, Kia India is also working on the facelift version of the fourth-generation model of the Carnival.
Speaking of sales, the past two months, April and May, have been quite poor for the sales of this MPV. In fact, not a single unit of this car was sold in the past two months. However, it should be noted that the car performed well in the first month of 2023, and in January 2023, a total of 1,003 units of this car were sold.
Declining sales since January
While it is true that 1,003 units of the car were sold in January, the sales figures declined from February onwards. In February, only 504 units of the car were sold, and in March, the company managed to sell only 168 units of the car. The demand for this car has been consistently decreasing, which is one of the reasons why it has been removed from the market.
