New Delhi: The delivery of the new W175 (W175) bike of two-wheeler manufacturer Kawasaki is going to start from December this year. This is going to be the company’s cheapest bike in India, with prices starting at Rs 1,47,000. Although its special edition model is a bit expensive, which costs Rs 1.49 lakh. It is a retro themed motorcycle that will take on other bikes including the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin. It is powered by a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 12.8bhp power and 13.2Nm peak torque. It has been given a 5-speed gearbox. The biggest highlight of this bike is that the engine in its Bharat spec version is a fuel-injected version and not a carbureted one.
How is the design?
Its design is similar to that of the bikes coming with the classic design of the old times, which has been given a retro roadster with an analog instrument cluster. The instrument cluster has more emphasis on design rather than technical features with W branding. It also gets round headlamps and wire spoke wheels, which again reminds us of its classic retro design.
Features
Not many features have been given in the motorcycle. But its lightness will enhance its performance, even if it is not given a very powerful engine in it. It also doesn’t get any rear disc brake or LED lights, which indicate its price cut. The ground clearance of 165 mm is suitable for Indian roads. This is the company’s second W series bike in India and aims to provide smooth riding with a retro bike feel.
Color option
The bike will come in two colours, ebony and red. Also, it will come in two variants, one standard and the other special edition. Its price is very aggressive according to its high localization results. The segment in which this new bike will come, already has a strong hold of many rivals including Royal Enfield, Jawa and Yezdi. This bike is also sold in many international markets.
