Japan Now Among Top Five Export Markets For Cars Manufactured In India! Suzuki And Honda Witness Soaring Demand Overseas

In a recent news update it has been revealed that, Japan has gained a position in the Top 5 destinations for Indian Car Exports for the first time in 2025. The change signals towards growing global demand for vehicles manufactured in India. Major Indian exporters like Suzuki Motor Corp and Honda Motor Co’s local units have found a safe manufacturing haven in India.

As per data shared by SIAM, car exports to Japan have jumped up to $616.45 million in the first nine months of FY25, from a figure of $220.62 million in all of FY24. An executive from Suzuki reported to Indiatimes that Suzuki has further plans to export large numbers of E-Vitara Electric SUVs produced in India, To European Markets and Japan.

Honda’s Export Numbers Surpass Its Domestic Sales!

Numbers have revealed that Honda exported more SUV Elevate to Japan than it sold in domestic market. The Total number of sales stood at of 223,321. Elevate is not the only model that is being exported in large numbers. Beyond Elevate, Suzuki Jimny and Fronx are also exported in high numbers. 

Overseas demand has at certain periods reached such highs that Suzuki had to cease Jimny Five Door Bookings In Japan after receiving approximately 50,000 orders within four days.

India is en-route to soon become the production hub for premium two wheelers as well, as brands like Yamaha have formidable plans to manufacture and export premium bikes out of India. Its possible that with such changes the Indian bike manufacturing scene might also witness growth similar to 15% increase.

Compact passenger vehicles constitute over 27% of exports, measuring 4 meters in Length with upto 1.4 litres engine capacity.
