Maruti Suzuki, the leading car manufacturer in the country, has been placing significant bets on hybrid technology. Currently offering strong hybrid technology in models like the Grand Vitara and Invicto, the company is poised to make hybrids a cornerstone of its offerings, even as it prepares to launch an electric vehicle in India by 2025. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales at MSIL, envisions that approximately 25% of total sales in the Indian market will come from hybrid models by FY31.
