As per a new news update it has become apparent that KIA would be launching two new variants in the MPV line up just like Suzuki has done with Ertiga and Xl6. As per the new updates the car would go beyond the Rs 20 Lakh mark considering the range of variants that KIA would launch. The MPV segment is being highly recognized by the users as a profoundly affordable and value for money segment. And hence manufacturers have been planning to launch new cars in their line up in the MPV segment. A previous report had also suggested that beyond the E-VITARA Suzuki also has plans to delve into the MPV space with their new EV powertrain.
Apart from the other manufacturers who have been reeling under the pressure of manufacturing affordable EV’s, KIA has sought to launch their first affordable ICE based EV. As per a slew of recent reports it has become apparent that KIA would be launching a facelift of the Carens and beyond that it would then move on to launch a new EV MPV. As per the leaks and news its apparent that The EV would be based on the same platform as that of the ICE variant.
One of the biggest challenges with the new KIA EV construction would be how KIA would engineer the battery placement to ensure that the cabin space does not decrease. The spacious cabin is one of the most prominent features of the KIA Carens. The facelift would likely have new styling changes and added features that would differentiate it from its petrol and diesel-powered counterparts.

EV Powertrain
Since Hyundai and Kia operate independently but under the command of a single owner it’s possible that the new Carens EV might be given the same battery pack as that of the Hyundai Creta EV. The Creta is offered with two battery-pack options a 42KWH and a 51.4KWH battery pack as well. As per MIDC the range of the 42 KWH battery pack would be around 390Km and the 51.4 KWH battery pack would be around 473Km. While KIA has not shared any details on the upcoming EV it’s possible that the EV prices might start around Rs 18 Lakh, the higher-end variants could possibly reach upto Rs 26.90 Lakhs or above.
KIA has a formidable advantage if it goes along with the prospect of launching the new KIA Carens EV. There is no other EV powered MPV vehicle in the market under 25 Lakh Rs as of yet. If KIA ensures that their vehicle has all the necessary add on’s to gain a formidable status in the India
Syros EV
The Recently launched Syros has been recipient of formidable sales in the recent past, Hence its only evident that KIA would be using the platform to launch their new affordable EV. KIA has not revealed any details about the Syros EV yet, but its evident that the car is under development and might be powered by the same powertrain as that of the Hyundai Kona or the Creta electric.
