India has become a formidable Export Hub for Nissan as per a recent report. The company has started exporting the Left Hand Drive version of their compact SUV Magnite to new countries. The manufacturer has already shipped 10,000 units of the Left hand drive Magnite across various global markets.
Beyond the exports the manufacturer is also planning to revamp their line up in India with the introduction of new Hybrid and CNG vehicles and more variants for their existing models in India.
The possible merger in between Nissan and Honda would not impact the pledged plans, for the new product introduction in India. The plans include the introduction of a Two Mid Sized SUV models and one electric SUV. Beyond these plans the manufacturer would also be planning to triple its export volumes up to 1 lakh each per-anum by the end of 2026 year
“India is moving as one the global export hubs for Nissan…With the start of exports of the left-hand drive version of the Magnite, we will be exporting to a total of 65 countries now, thus becoming one of the highest hubs of export globally for Nissan,” Torres said.
New Export Plans
Before this Nissan was exporting to around 20 countries and it would now export to around 45 more countries with the commencement of shipments of left hand drive countries. As per the data shared by the company Nissan would export 2,000 units to middle east, North Africa and Asia Pacific regions. Beyond that the manufacturer plans to export 5100 units of LHD Magnite to select Latin American Markets , including Mexico with the plans to export about 10,000 units by the end of the February 2025.
The Exports of the LDH Magnite are a reflection of the companies one car one world strategy, and showcases India’s Big Potential. As per the officials higher up in the chain the United Kingdom along with India would be the biggest export hubs for India.
“We are also considering another step more. We are studying different power trains to add to our cars like hybrid and CNG. EV is already announced, which we will have before the end of FY26,” he noted.
Moreover, company officials said, “We are also studying our lineup to ensure how do we also accelerate with additional new models, which we have not announced and we are in the final phase to confirm, but we are thinking of expanding further”
The Officials further spoke about Honda and Nissan communion. How the discussion in between the two companies are at a global level and its too early to comment. As per them, India is one of the fastest growing markets globally and a positive outcome is expected from the growth the brand has seen in sales and exports.
