Hyundai’s Next Gen Hybrid System To Soon Feature In These Vehicles- Mileage Improvements On The Horizon?

Hyundai has unveiled a new HYBRID transmission that an improve the overall efficiency and performance of the vehicles. -Details Below-

In a recent update, Hyundai India has unveiled a next gen Hybrid system that allows for a new transmission with two integrated motors that can be easily paired with a range of internal combustion engines, allowing for optimised performance. That is not the end of the innovation that the brand has been able to incorporate in the new Hybrid powertrain.

Enhanced Performance Efficiency And Packaging 

The new Hybrid transmission technology that has been developed by Hyundai has dual motors, one being the p1 motor that handles the  starting, battery energy generation and energy deployment to assist propulsion.The Other motor in the system is responsible for propulsion and regenerative braking. The Dual motor setup improves the Power, performance and fuel efficiency while providing the vehicle with a smooth shifting experience. Beyond that the new setup is able to provide the vehicle with reduced noise as well as a more refined driving experience.

The New Transmission can be seamlessly paired with an internal combustion engine across the group’s lineup, delivering a system output from the low- 100 PS range to the mid 300 PS region. Such broad application further allows the brand to equip a vast array of vehicles with the new Hybrid Setup.

The Next generation Hybrid system further allows the addition of convenient features such as Stay Mode, Vehicle To Load Functionality and smart regenerative braking.

Advanced Compression and Improved Engine Design 

The First Powertrain that would be equipped with the new Hybrid system would be the gasoline powered 2.5 litre Turbo Hybrid Unit, and beyond that a new 1.6 litre turbo Hybrid Powertrain will also be available. Hyundai has shared profound plans to equip various engines across their line up with the new Hybrid system. The engines that would be equipped with the Hybrid system would range from the low 100- PS region all the way till 300- PS region. 

Right now the manufacturer is testing the new system with the 2.5 turbo Hybrid powertrain making its debut in the all-new Hyundai Palisade Hybrid which began mass production this month.  Its possible that the new system would be able to help vehicles attain a better mileage and range when used with India Spec vehicles.

Hyundai has also showcased plans to introduce a 2.5 turbo Hybrid system in 2026. Beyond that the brand would soon expand the new Hybrid system to its luxury vehicles under the Genesis moniker soon.
