Hyundai has officially unveiled the new Hyundai Venue recently. The new Venue features a completely overhauled design and is set to break cover on November 4. Here’s an in-depth comparison of the old and new models that will be revealed soon.
Newer Dynamics
The upcoming Venue will measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,665 mm in height. The new Venue will be 48 mm taller and 30 mm wider than the current model.
The increase in size is largely due to the Venue’s new boxy design and flared wheel arches, which give the new SUV a distinctive and bold appearance. The new Venue also has a longer wheelbase, enhancing interior space and comfort. Overall, the changes in design and dimensions ensure a roomier cabin and a more dynamic presence on the road.
Hyundai Venue: New vs Old Interior
The new Venue features a completely revamped interior with a redesigned dashboard and a new blue-beige color scheme. The older single-standing screen setup has been replaced with a 13.2-inch connected display, which extends across the middle of the dashboard from the driver’s side.
A beige panel now runs across the width of the dashboard, complemented by vertical AC vents at both ends. Interestingly, Hyundai has replaced its traditional steering wheel logo with a four-dot motif, similar to the one seen on the Ioniq 5 and Creta Electric. The four dots represent the letter ‘H’ in Morse code.
The center of the dashboard features two rows of buttons and a small climate control display. The gear lever is now surrounded by a rotary drive mode selector and an electronic parking brake, enhancing both convenience and aesthetics.
Hyundai Venue: New VS Old Features
One of the most visually appealing updates inside the cabin is the slightly curved 12.3-inch screen. The new display is expected to run on updated software and will support over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The new Venue is also equipped with ventilated front seats, an electronic parking brake, and auto hold. Additional features include ambient lighting, rear sunblinds, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
To enhance safety, the Venue now comes with adaptive cruise control, safe exit warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, blind spot collision avoidance, and several other ADAS functionalities that go beyond the current Venue’s Level 1 capabilities.
New Venue vs Old Venue: Engine and Gearbox Options
The new Venue continues to offer the same engine options as the outgoing model. These include:
- An 83 hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
- A 120 hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine
- A 100 hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine
With the new model, Hyundai is expected to introduce a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the diesel variants as well.
