New Delhi: South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor launched its new electric crossover car Hyundai Ioniq 5 at the Auto Expo this year. The ex-showroom price of this car was kept at Rs 44.95 lakh, which is valid only for the first 500 customers.

Delivery will start in March 2023?

Hyundai had initially targeted to deliver 250-300 units of the car annually, but has received more bookings here than expected. More than 650 units of this car have been booked so far. The company may start its delivery by the end of March this year.

How is the powertrain?

Talking about the powertrain of Hyundai Ioniq 5, a 72.6kWh battery pack has been given in it. It claims an ARAI-certified range of 631km on a single full charge. The electric motor fitted in it is capable of generating 217bhp power and 350Nm torque. This electric crossover comes with rear-wheel drive system. The new Hyundai electric car supports superfast 800V charging that can charge its battery pack from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.

Interior & Features

The company’s car says that the interior of the Ioniq 5 is made of eco-friendly leather upholstery and recycled plastic. The car comes with a dual screen setup with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12-inch instrument cluster. Through its vehicle-to-load function, you can charge mobiles, laptops etc., which gives an output of 3.6kWh.

Features like ADAS technology, memory seat function, power sliding rear seats with manual reclining, head-up display, 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, front ventilated and heated seats with lumbar support Front powered seats, hands free smart power tailgate, height adjustment and many other features are also available.

BYD Atto 3 will compete

Hyundai Ioniq 5 will compete with BYD Auto 3 in the Indian market. In which a battery pack of 60.48 kWh has been given. Its motor generates power of 201.15 bhp. This car gets a range of 521 km per charge.
