New Delhi: In India, there is quite a buzz in the premium hatchback space during the festive season because Hyundai is launching its facelifted models of the i20 and i20 N Line. Recently, spy shots of the Hyundai i20 facelift and i20 N Line facelift were spotted. The spy images indicate that the company is testing both the standard and sporty models together.
Design:
The company may launch both these models around the festive season. It will be a minor update, and the price is expected to be slightly higher. Based on the spy shots, there don’t seem to be many noticeable changes in the i20 and i20 N Line facelift. In one set of images, the i20 facelift and i20 N Line facelift are seen together, while in another, they appear separately. Another image provides some information about the interior updates in the i20 facelift. The mid-spec Magna or Sportz trim of the i20 facelift and the top-spec i20 N Line facelift come with similar features. Both feature a similar titan grey shade. The standard i20 facelift prototype doesn’t show alloy wheels; instead, it has stylish wheel covers. The new wheel covers resemble the alloy wheels of the previous-generation i20 Elite facelift.
What’s New:
There is a possibility of receiving some major changes on the front and rear exterior. Expect new headlights, taillights, front and rear bumpers, and front and rear fog lights. The standard i20 will feature paddle shifters for the first time. With the i20 N Line model, you can expect a more sporty design, paddle shifters, and a different 3-spoke steering wheel. The Hyundai i20 N Line facelift may offer features like red accent highlights, red stitching, stiffer suspension, and sportier alloy wheels with an N badge.
Powertrain:
It will be equipped with a 1.2L 4-cylinder NA petrol engine and a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, both available with a 5-speed MT and CVT. Hyundai will offer a manual transmission with the turbo petrol engine, which is currently only available with the N Line.
Competition:
This car will compete with the Tata Altroz, which offers options for a 1.2-liter petrol, a diesel, and a CNG powertrain.
