New Delhi: Hyundai Motor is gearing up to unveil the facelifted version of its immensely popular model, the Creta, in India. Spy shots of the camouflaged compact SUV, recently spotted near Chennai, suggest that its launch is imminent. While the Korean automaker hasn’t officially confirmed the launch date, reports indicate that it’s slated for early next year. Let’s take a closer look at what the spy shots have unveiled about the upcoming Creta facelift.
A segment leader getting a makeover
The Hyundai Creta currently dominates the compact SUV segment. With its refreshed avatar, it’s set to reignite its rivalry with competitors like the Kia Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the newcomer, Honda Elevate SUV. Hyundai has also recently introduced the Adventure edition of the Creta. Currently available in six variants, with both petrol and diesel engine options, the Creta’s price ranges between Rs 10.87 lakh and Rs 19.20 lakh.
Design updates
Spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Creta facelift reveal substantial design updates. Expect a new set of LED daytime running lights (DRLs), split LED headlights, and LED taillights. Hyundai is likely to incorporate the same H-shaped headlight and taillight signature seen in the Exter SUV. The spy shots also hint at fresh roof rails and an updated alloy wheel design. The grille is expected to adopt a parametric design, accompanied by tweaked bumpers.
Interior revamp
Inside the Creta, significant changes are anticipated. Hyundai may introduce a larger touchscreen infotainment screen and update the digital instrument cluster. New features like ADAS functionality, a 260-degree camera system, seat ventilation, and refreshed upholstery could enhance the interior experience.
Powertrain possibilities
Under the hood, the facelifted Creta is likely to retain the 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines found in the B6 Phase 2 versions. There’s also speculation about the addition of a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit with a 7-speed DCT gearbox, currently used in the Alcazar SUV. Transmission choices may encompass a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, VT, and 7-speed DCT gearboxes.
The Hyundai Creta, already a leader in its segment, is all set for a refresh that promises a revamped design, new interior features, and potential powertrain upgrades. With the official launch date yet to be confirmed, auto enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the unveiling of this popular compact SUV’s facelifted version.
