Hyundai Creta EV to Hit Indian Roads Soon
In the realm of electric vehicles, excitement is bubbling as car manufacturers race to electrify their popular models. The Hyundai Creta is about to join this eco-friendly revolution, with its Electric Vehicle (EV) variant expected to launch in September.
What to Expect from the Hyundai Creta EV
Hyundai recently unveiled its new Creta and Creta N Line models in India. These SUVs have swiftly climbed the sales charts, now regularly featuring in the top 10 best-selling cars list. Following this success, the company is gearing up to introduce an electric version of the widely loved SUV.
Range and Performance
The Hyundai Creta EV, anticipated to feature a 45 kWh battery pack, promises an impressive range close to 450 kilometers on a full charge. The electric variant is expected to deliver 138 horsepower and 255 Nm of torque, making it a compelling choice for eco-conscious consumers.
Advanced Safety and Tech Features
The Creta EV is set to come packed with advanced safety features, including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, a 360-degree camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-speaker sound system. Enhanced safety measures include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ventilated seats.
Additionally, the new model will provide amenities like a dashcam, climate control, wireless charging pad, Type C charging ports, and electronic parking brakes, ensuring a luxurious and high-tech driving experience.
Practical and Spacious
The new Creta EV is reportedly based on the current Creta platform, offering dimensions that include a length of 4330 mm, width of 1790 mm, height of 1635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2610 mm. It also offers a spacious 433-liter boot and 17-inch tires, maintaining the practicality that the Creta is known for.
Competition in the Electric Car Market
Hyundai’s entry into the electric SUV segment with the Creta EV signals an exciting time for electric vehicle enthusiasts. Alongside Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are also set to launch new electric vehicles in India soon. Expectedly, these models will be priced between 20 to 25 lakh rupees. Despite the influx of new models, Mahindra’s XUV400 remains the most affordable, priced between 15.49 to 17.49 lakh rupees. Meanwhile, MG ZS EV is priced between 18.98 to 24.98 lakh rupees.
