In India, buyers looking for strong performance at an affordable price, spacious cabins, and feature-loaded vehicles are increasingly turning towards the mid-size SUV segment. This category has become one of the most popular in the passenger vehicle market, delivering steady sales every month. November 2025 was no different, as demand for mid-size SUVs remained strong, with several popular models posting impressive numbers. Once again, Hyundai Creta emerged as the clear leader of the segment.
Hyundai Creta On Top
Hyundai Creta continued its dominance in November 2025, finishing as the highest-selling mid-size SUV of the month. The SUV recorded total sales of 17,344 units, marking a growth of nearly 12 percent compared to November 2024. Creta’s success can be credited to its reliable engine options, comfortable ride quality, good fuel efficiency, and a well-equipped cabin packed with modern features. Whether in cities or rural areas, Creta remains a preferred choice for families and daily commuters alike.
Mahindra Scorpio Holds Strong at Second Spot
Mahindra Scorpio secured the second position in the sales chart, registering 15,616 units in November 2025. This represents a solid 23 percent year-on-year growth. Known for its muscular road presence, tough build quality, and powerful engines, Scorpio continues to attract buyers who want a rugged and dependable SUV. Its popularity among adventure seekers and highway drivers remains strong.
Maruti and Toyota SUVs Show Solid Performance
At third place was Maruti Suzuki Victoris, which sold 12,300 units in November. Despite being a relatively new entry, this hybrid SUV has quickly gained traction among customers. Close behind was Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, with sales of 11,339 units, reflecting its strong appeal in the fuel-efficient SUV space.
Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hyryder also delivered an impressive performance, selling 7,393 units and securing a place in the top five. Notably, Hyryder recorded a massive 52 percent annual growth, highlighting the growing demand for hybrid SUVs in India.
How Other SUVs Performed
Beyond the top five, several other models continued to contribute to the segment’s overall growth. Mahindra XUV700 sold 6,176 units, maintaining steady demand. Tata Harrier recorded 3,771 units, while Tata Safari saw sales of 1,895 units. Honda Elevate also remained in the mix with 1,836 units sold during the month.
Competition Increases in the Segment
These figures clearly show that competition in the mid-size SUV segment is heating up. With more choices, better technology, and multiple powertrain options, Indian buyers now have more freedom than ever to choose a vehicle that fits their needs and budget. As demand continues to rise, this segment is expected to remain a key growth driver for automakers in the coming months.
