New Delhi: The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has started production of its new commuter bike Shine 100 from its plant in Narsapura, Karnataka. The bike has started arriving at the dealerships, and the deliveries will start soon. The price of this motorcycle starts from Rs.64,900. At this price point, it will compete with Hero Splendor+, Hero HF Deluxe and Bajaj Platina 100.
Engine
Honda’s new Shine 100 gets a 99.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is ready for the new emission norms and E20 fuel. This motor generates 7.6 bhp power and 8.05Nm torque at 6,000rpm. According to the company, this bike will be able to give more mileage.
Dimension
Honda has used a brand new diamond frame in this new bike. Its wheelbase is 1245mm and ground clearance is 168mm and seat height is 786mm. It gets a turning radius of 1.9 metres. The length of this bike is 1955mm, width 754mm and height is 1050mm. Its weight is 99 kg and it gets a fuel tank of 9 liters.
Design
The new Honda Shine 100 will be available in 5 color options in the market, which include Black with Blue Stripes, Black with Gold Stripes, Black with Red Stripes, Black with Gray Stripes and Black with Green Stripes. The bike gets halogen headlamps, new design fuel tank, black finished alloy wheels, side stand inhibitor and taillamps along with an analog instrument cluster with fuel gauge, odometer and speedometer. It gets 130 mm front drum brake and 110 mm rear drum brake with combined braking system.
Hero Splendor will compete with
The bike will compete with the Hero Splendor Plus, which is currently the segment leader. It gets a 97.6cc engine. Its price starts from an ex-showroom price of Rs.72468.
