New Delhi: Honda Cars India has expanded its portfolio by introducing a new mid size SUV. The company made its world premiere of the all-new Honda Elevate in India today. This SUV has now become the third product in the company's portfolio in India after City and Amaze. Let us know what is the specialty of this new SUV.

Styling & Features

The design of the new Honda Elevate SUV is similar to the design of the HR-V and CR-V already sold in the global market. It will come with butch appeal and approximately 4.3 in length. Being a Honda product, it has also been given a lot of features. In terms of features, the Elevate gets a digital instrument cluster with Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a touchscreen 10-inch infotainment system with connected car functionality. The new SUV has been given many other safety features including ABS, six airbags, hill hold assist, EBD and unauthorized access alert, rear seatbelt reminder, vehicle stability assist, hill hold assist, emergency stop.

Powertrain

In this new mid-size SUV from Honda, the powertrain of the company's mid-size sedan City has been used. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine given in it will generate power of 121 Bhp, which is paired with 6-speed manual gearbox and CVT. While there is also the option of a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine with strong hybrid technology, mated to an e-CVT transmission.

How much will it cost

The new Honda Elevate SUV has been officially introduced today, which is likely to be launched in the market by August this year. The prices of this SUV will be disclosed at the time of launching. However, the ex-showroom price of this new mid-size SUV is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.

Who will compete

The new Honda Elevate will directly compete with cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in the Indian market. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine, with mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options.
