Hero had recently launched a new iteration of the Xpulse with 210cc engine. But the first look of the Xpulse 421 have been revealed by Motor Cycle News Australia.
There had been a few leaks regarding the look of the bike before, but this would be the first time when the whole rendering of the bike has been revealed. This would be the biggest motorcycle by the manufacturer as of yet. Beyond that its would compete against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan and Scram 440.
Hero had showcased looks of the bike at the EICMA2024, but its the first time that the whole look of the bike has been revealed online. The look was revealed by overseas design registration outfits, the leaked image is a CAD rendering of the new bike that would soon be launched into the market.
While Hero has been mostly concerned with small cc commuter bikes, now it seems that the manufacturer would soon try to compete in newer segments. The Xpulse 421’s engine would be a liquid cooled DOHC single cylinder engine , would be the brands most high tech offering.
Hero plans to bid in as a exporter as well. With this bike it seeks to enter into a new segment where it would export the vehicle to overseas markets after production in India. This bike would be an integral part of the companies step towards entering European markets later this year.
Design Of The New Bike
Unlike the design of the Royal Enfield which still gives a retro vibe the design of the all new Xpulse 421 would be pretty modern. The bike would have a steel tube chassis, a aluminum swingarm upside down forks as long with four pot brake calipers and ABS functionality. This would possibly be the first hero that riders outside India would be able to experience. The Bike would also have a monoshock at the rear with possible adjustment that would allow the rider to adapt the bike as per the terrain.
Features
The Xpulse 421 is likely to have handle mounted ORVM’s with proper underbelly protection. Beyond that bike would carry certain design cues taken from the 200 cc variant as well. The wire spoke front wheels on the bike upon launching would be around 21 inches. The rear tires would be around 18 inches, the bike would have a dual channel ABS system as well. The bike would have a TFT instrument panel with Google maps and music controls along with ride selection modes as well.
Performance
The bike would be powered by a 421 cc single cylinder engine that would churn out about 40 BHP and a peak torque figure of 40 NM. The Transmission mated to the engine would be a 6 speed unit. The upgraded engine would definitely give the bike more grunt to compete with the likes of KTM 390 Adventure as well as other bikes in the segment
