New Delhi: Hero MotorCorp has launched its best-selling Splendor Plus commuter motorcycle in a new Silver Nexus Blue colour. The new Hero Splendor Plus Silver Nexus Blue color variant has been priced at Rs 72,978 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is about Rs 1,000 more expensive compared to the other standard color models.

The wheel model range is also available in 5 color variants namely Matte Shield Gold, Black with Purple, Black with Silver, Black with Sports Red, Heavy Gray with Green.

In the 100cc motorcycle segment, the Hero Splendor Plus will compete against TVS Radeon, Bajaj CT 110 and Honda CD 110 Dream. The new Hero Splendor Plus Silver Nexus Blue color variant has blue graphics on the side panels and fuel tank. It also has blacked-out alloy wheels as seen on the Splendor Plus Xtec. No other changes were made to the bike.

The Hero Splendor Plus is powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that churns out a peak power of 7.9PS at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine has been boosted by Hero’s i3S idle start/stop system.

Transmission functions are provided by a 4-speed manual gearbox. The bike’s suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and dual suspension shocks at the rear. Stopping power comes from drum brakes at both ends and is also available with an integrated brake system.

In other updates, the domestic two-wheeler manufacturer is all set to launch its first electric scooter on October 7, 2022. This model will come under the new sub-brand Hero’s Vida and is likely to be priced around Rs 100,000. The new Hero electric scooter has been developed at the company’s R&D center at the Innovation and Technology Center in Jaipur. It will go head-to-head against the Bajaj Chetak and the TVS iQube.
