According to the media reports, the new Harley Davidson X440 which has been developed in conjunction with Hero MotoCorp will be launched next month in India. Harley-Davidson India has released the first images of its upcoming motorcycle, the 440 ahead of its launch. This article provides you the details of this fascinating bike.
Design
The X440 features a classic Harley Roadster design. More than the Classic look, X440 is the Meteor that is at threat from this new Harley. It will take on the retro cruiser segment dominated by the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. It has a sleek silhouette which is complemented by the LED headlamp and a single-pod instrument panel. The flat handlebar adds to the feel. The tank looks simple but fits the bill just right. The short rear fender houses the LED tail light panel. The all-black engine and exhaust add to the look of the bike. The side panels, as can be seen, remain decal-free. The seat looks like a single unit with spaces clearly segregated for the rider and pillion. The pillion grab rails are positioned on the sides. The Harley Davidson signature sits on the side along with the nomenclature of the motorcycle.
Engine and suspension
The X440 uses a 400cc plus motor. It has a single-cylinder engine. It is oil cooled. Twin shocks can be seen at the back. The X440 utilises a tubular steel frame and rides on USD forks up front. Up front, there is an 18in wheel while at the back, the wheel size remains 17in. Expect the alloy wheels to be shod with Indian-made MRF or Ceat tyres.
Price expectation
X440’s expected price ranges from ₹ 2,50,000 to ₹ 3,00,000. Another bike similar to X440 is Kawasaki Versys X-300 which is launching in June 2023 in India.
