Audi Becomes Cheaper in India: As the new GST cuts are about to be rolled out soon, Audi India has announced a price cut across its product portfolio. The move comes after the total tax incidence of all passenger vehicles in India has been brought down following the new GST rates. Several carmakers, including Hyundai, Tata Motors, Toyota, Renault, Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz, have announced price cuts across their product range.
How Will Customers Benefit?
Audi India has stated that the benefits vary for different models. The price cut ranges between ₹2.60 lakh and ₹7.80 lakh. This has made the Audi cars cheaper for the people who wanted to own an Audi. The German luxury auto giant is expecting a surge in their sales during the festive season.
The New GST
Earlier, the GST applicable on all cars over 4 meters used to be taxed two times where the GST remains 28 per cent and on top of it, a compensation cess was also placed, which ranged from 15 per cent to 22 per cent. Now, while the GST has been increased to 40 per cent, the compensation cess has been completely removed, which lowers the overall tax applied.
The New Rates Of Audi Model
Audi has reduced the starting price of the Q3 SUV from ₹46.14 lakh to ₹43.07 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Audi A4 now starts at ₹46.2 lakh, down from ₹48.89 lakh earlier. The Audi Q7 now starts at ₹86.14 lakh, compared to ₹92.29 lakh before.
The starting price of the Audi Q5 is ₹63.75 lakh (ex-showroom) after the price revision, as compared to ₹68.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Audi A6 starts with ₹63.74 lakh (ex-showroom), down from ₹67.38 lakh (ex-showroom). The Audi Q8’s pricing now starts from ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom), down compared to the pre-revised pricing of ₹1.18 crore (ex-showroom).
