Due to rising petrol prices, CNG bikes will soon enter the market. Bajaj is developing a CNG bike, expected to launch during the festive season this year. Meanwhile, Honda plans to introduce the new Activa 7G. Media reports suggest this scooter may be a hybrid, featuring an electric motor and battery alongside a powerful petrol engine for extra power on the road.
A hybrid scooter runs on petrol and charges its battery when the engine starts. When extra power is needed, such as on hills or rough roads, the engine receives about 5NM of additional power from the battery. This process happens automatically and reduces petrol consumption. It is said that Honda’s new scooter might be a mild hybrid.
The company has not yet revealed the price and launch date for the Honda Activa 7G. Estimates suggest it could be priced between 80 to 90 thousand rupees ex-showroom initially. Sources indicate it will be available by October 2024.
