New Delhi: Pickup trucks are in great demand across the world. Some of their models are also available in India. In which the price of Isuzu V-Cross High-Lander starts at Rs 19.49 Lakh, while the price of Toyota Hilux starts at Rs 30.4 Lakh. At the same time, Tata Xenon XT and Mahindra Scorpio Gateway are available in the price of up to Rs 10 lakh. At the same time, another new model is going to be entered in the range of Rs 15 lakh. Because Force Motors is testing a pickup truck based on its Gurkha. Recently it was seen during testing. The production model is expected to be similar to the testing unit. Its launching can be done soon.
Spot happened during testing
This is not the first time that the Force Gurkha pickup truck has been spotted. It was first showcased by Indonesia-based Repulic Motor for military use at the Defense Expo and Forum under the Kshatriya brand. The company also equipped this pickup truck with a missile launcher. The Force Gurkha pickup will get a look inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6. There was no cover on this model that was spotted testing in India. The pickup has not been completely designed as a pickup truck, rather it is based on the cruiser MUV.
Design
Force Motors has designed it as an MUV to a pickup. Due to this, its body design has also been changed. Also, it gets a truck-like tailgate instead of the cruiser-like side-hinged bottom half tailgate. It is likely to be priced lower, as it is based on the cruiser MUV. Its rear portion has been converted into a loading bay. Whereas in its cruiser version, 8 seater capacity is available here. It gets a 4X4 drivetrain with a Mercedes-Benz engine. It gets a sliding windshield window. It gets 18” alloy wheels similar to the 5-door Gurkha and taillights similar to the cruiser MUV. Its front look will be like Gurkha.
Engine
Every passenger and commercial vehicle in the Force gets the same FM CR 2.6L turbo diesel engine sourced from Mercedes Benz, which makes 90 Bhp power and 250 Nm torque. It is likely to get a sole 5-speed gearbox and 4X4 mechanical locking differential.
