FASTag Annual Pass: The FASTag annual pass, effective from August 15, 2025 has been receiving an overwhelming response nationwide. The pass launched by the National Highway Authority of India has eased travel experience of people by saving time and fuel. This facility (annual pass) has been appreciated for being a budget-friendly option for frequent travellers as users can make up to 200 toll-free crossings in a year without paying the regular per-trip toll charges
With this pass, owners of private cars, jeeps, and vans can travel through designated National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) fee plazas without paying per-crossing user charges. It is valid for one year or up to 200 crossings. The FASTag annual pass was launched on the occasion of Independence Day this year.
How Can The Annual Pass Be Activated?
There are only two options to activate the FASTag annual pass, which is through the Rajmargyatra mobile application and NHAI website.
Documents Required:
Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)
Passport-sized photograph of the vehicle owner
KYC documents
ID and address proof
How Will The Annual Pass Be Activated?
Following steps need to be performed to activate the FASTag Annual Pass:
Step 1: Eligibility Check
The Annual Pass will be activated after verifying the eligibility of the vehicle and the associated FASTag. For this, the vehicle and the associated FASTag must first undergo verification to confirm eligibility for the Annual Pass.
Step 2: Payment
Once verified, the user needs to pay Rs 3,000 for the base year 2025–26. The payment can be made through the Rajmargyatra mobile application or the NHAI website.
Step 3: Activation
After successful payment, the Annual Pass will be activated on the registered FASTag.
Fee Plazas Covered Under The Pass
It is valid only at National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) fee plazas. At fee plazas on Expressways, State Highways (SH), etc. managed by State Governments or local bodies, the FASTag will operate as a regular FASTag, and applicable user fee charges may apply.
Validity
Notably, the Annual Pass is valid for one year from the date of activation or 200 transactions (crossings), whichever comes first. Once the Annual Pass completes either of the terms from the date of activation, it will automatically revert to a regular FASTag. If a user wishes to continue using the Annual Pass benefits, he will have to re-activate the Annual Pass.
