Vayve have launched their new EV solar powered vehicle on Saturday at the Bharat mobility expo. The car has been launched in three variants the 9 KWH Nova, The 12.6 KWH Stella as well as a 18kwh Vega. The prices of the car are between Rs 3.25 lakh Rs to 6 lakh Rs. The car would have a range of 250 km per charge with the top speed of a measly 70 kmph.
Key Features And Performance
The manufacturer Vayve Mobility shared key details about the vehicle and showcased how the vehicle could be the resolute solution to all the issues that consumers face with EV Vehicles. As per the start up the vehicle would provide a range of about 250km on a single full charge. The car would be able to do 3,000km on free solar annually and would further be able to support fast charging and would charge up enough in 5 minutes to provide a range of 50km.
Specs As Per Manufacturer
As per the manufacturer the car would be able to sprint from o to 40 kmph in only 5 seconds and touch a top speed of 70 kmph shortly as well. The main focus of the manufacturer has been on reducing the charges that are often associated with EV’s and petrol powered cars.
The cars production would begin somewhere around 2026, and would soon be delivered to people who seek to drive a vehicle powered by solar panels. Beyond that the CEO of the company further spoke about how the synergy between their motors and solar panels is result of years worth of research and development.
After its official release the car would cost only 0.5 Rs per km compared to the 5-Rs per km that a petrol car incurs. The car would be one of the best option for any one who drives a lot and travels about 25 km’s back and forth daily. Beyond that the car is packed with new features as well that would make travelling around with the vehicle a great ease. The car would have seamless Smartphone connectivity, active vehicle diagnostics, Remote monitoring as well as Over the Air Update by the manufacturer.
A distant Reality?
While manufacturers such as Lightyear a 250,000 euro car offers such functionality Vayve seems to be planning to offer it for much lesser. The car would possible be able to charge through conventional charging which would be complemented along the way with the solar powered roof panels. While the vehicle has been showcased we think a lot more research is necessary on the subject of solar cars. With a struggling EV adaptation process, would the users be warm towards the Vayve EV car , only time would tell.
The guardian recently tested a Lightyear 0 solar car and during the test, even the lightyear uses the solar power as a subsidiary against the main power supply for charging. As per the reviewers the solar panels could add up 44 miles a day to a total of 388 miles that the Light year o gets. That to only in optimal conditions. The Indian automotive market has forever been prejudiced towards affordable and efficient, but being both at once has been one of the biggest challenge for manufacturers. How the Vayve seems to grasp the market is still to be seen. Because the solar charging could be very temperamental with weather, and without it the car is just a EV and a rather impractical one.
