As per the reports from the Daily Star News website, a recently featured video on the TikTok account @epiccfacts have informed the about the use of button on the seat belt. This button prevents the seat belt sliding backwards after unbuckling it from groove.

Use of seat belt button
The button on the seat belt helps the passengers in a major way. When they pull the seat belt towards themselves, it locks into the groove on the side. However, once the buckle is removed, it becomes loose and slides down. To avoid this, there is small button present on the seat belt which prevents it from sliding backwards, making it easy for the occupant to wear it again.
