KTM seems to be in the pursuit to establish an increment in their domination above other brands through their line up. It has become apparent, that the brand is planning to launch the new 390 SMC R in India soon. Ahead of its official debut the bike was seen being tested on the Indian roads and a recent update has further revealed a vista of the bike being tested again. The recently spotted test mule was under heavy camouflage and painted fully black.
New Super Moto Under Rs 3 Lakh
As per the information that is as of yet available the new 390 SMC R is based on the 390 adventure along with the upcoming Enduro-R. This bike sits in the super moto category and runs on 17 inch spoke wheels quite similar to that of the 390 Adventure. The bike would be quite similar to the Enduro-R and as per the specs that have been circulating over the internet the suspension at both ends would be around 230 mm. The Front suspension would possibly be a WP Apex USD Forks while the rear one is a WP Monoshock adjustable for rebound and preload. Beyond that the bike would be offered with a dual channel ABS and a Super Moto ABS Mode as well.

Engine / Performance
The SMC R would be powered by the same 399 cc liquid cooled engine that powers the duke. The engine churns out 45.3 Bhp with a Peak Torque Output of 39 Nm. Similar to the Enduro the bike is being offered with a 4.3 inch TFT screen with Bluetooth features. The Bike Would be priced somewhere around Rs-3 lakh in India.

India as of yet has no other Super Moto bike that too under the price range of Rs 3 lakhs that is being expected as the final price of the new bike. Beyond the SMC R KTM has also shared plans to replace the 125 cc beginner Duke and RC models with 160 cc bikes that would possibly be launched soon after the launch of the new SMC R. How the Indian market reacts to the super moto bike genre would be a spectacle to witness.
