Citroen is set to revolutionize the luxury sedan segment in the Indian automotive market with the imminent launch of the updated Citroen C3X. The car, draped in camouflage during rigorous testing, has stirred considerable buzz on various social media platforms.
Reports suggest a significant upgrade in luxury and advanced safety features compared to its predecessor. Constructed on the CMP modular platform, this new iteration promises high-speed performance coupled with adaptability to challenging road conditions.
The upcoming Citroen C3X is poised to compete directly against established players such as the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia in the market. Anticipated to hit the roads by mid-2024, an electric vehicle (EV) version is expected to follow suit by February 2025.

With a length of up to 4.3 meters, this midsize marvel will house a robust 1.2 turbo petrol engine, boasting ample boot space, alloy wheels, and tubeless tires.
Under the hood, the Citroen C3X will offer an optional 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, generating a commendable power output of 110 hp. Providing both manual and automatic transmission options, the vehicle will feature an array of advanced amenities, including a digital display, touchscreen infotainment system, airbags, rearview camera, hill hold assist, and an advanced driver assistance system. Noteworthy for its substantial wheelbase and exceptional ground clearance, the car aims to elevate the driving experience to new heights.
Comparatively, the Hyundai Verna, a five-seater sedan, starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.96 lakh, reaching up to Rs 17.38 lakh for the top model. Offering two engine options, the car flaunts nine color variants, a capacious boot space of 528 liters, and a robust power output of 157.57 bhp, delivering a mileage of 20.6 kmpl.

Meanwhile, the Honda City, available in nine variants with a price range from Rs 11.63 lakh to Rs 16.11 lakh (ex-showroom), accommodates a 1498 cc engine, providing 506 liters of boot space and delivering a mileage of 18.4 kmpl. Equipped with advanced safety features, the car comes in a petrol engine variant.
With the Citroen C3X's imminent entry, the luxury sedan market is set for a spirited competition among these formidable contenders.
