Central Government decides to reduce subsidies on e-scooters, details inside
E-scooter: Buying an electric two-wheeler can get expensive from June 1. The central government decided to cut the subsidy on electric scooters and motorcycles.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries announced to reduce the subsidy amount on EV two-wheeler from Rs 15,000 per kW to Rs 10,000 per kW.
Reduction in subsidy will be applicable from June 1. At present, till May 31, there is a chance to buy EVs to avail of more subsidies. According to the information, the Ministry of Heavy Industry, in a notification said that it would reduce subsidies on all newly registered electric two-wheelers from June 1.
Earlier, the incentive limit for electric vehicles has already been reduced from 40 per cent to 15 per cent. Electric two-wheeler makers may cut down on features and battery packs due to the cut in subsidy. Future EV bikes Evoke Urban Classic, Emflux One and EV scooters Liger X and Yamaha Neo is to come.
