Dhurandar has been receiving widespread praise for its gripping story line, impactful dialogues, and stellar performances. Offering cinema goers the right blend of action and drama, the movie keeps audiences engaged throughout. What makes the film feel realistic is its superior production design. To ensure that every instance of the movie seems authentic, the production team has used highly realistic props, and the choice of vehicles has further added to the magic that spills over the screen.
For us auto enthusiasts, witnessing the right use of cars in a film scenario is always a joy, and a similar feat has been achieved by Dhurandar as well. To help our readers recognize the cars better, here is a full list of the vehicles used in the movie.
Lexus LX 470
Aslam Chaudhary and his relentless pursuit of Rehman Dakait push him to bring out his Lexus LX 470. Lexus vehicles are often regarded as the more opulent and luxurious versions of Toyota models, and they suit Aslam’s personality in the movie perfectly. The car is used in several thrilling chase sequences and dodges bullets. Throughout the movie, the SUV showcases its strength and style alongside Dutt in the film’s high-octane moments.

The LX 470 was launched in 1997. The second generation of the model was designed by Hiroya Kitazumi and was available with a 4.7-litre V8 engine.
Land Rover Defender
Major Iqbal, played by Arjun Rampal, is seen stepping down from the Land Rover Defender in the movie. In the Indian market, the SUV gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine. However, unlike the V8, this option is only available with the 110 body style in the X-Dynamic HSE trim.

The other 3.0-litre diesel engine comes fitted with all three body styles—90, 110, and 130—in X-Dynamic HSE, X, and Sedona editions. Although the car matches the stature of Arjun Rampal in the movie, it is not period-correct. An older Range Rover or Land Cruiser would have blended in much better with the forlorn surroundings of Pakistan.
Isuzu D-Max
The D-Max serves as a guard vehicle in Rehman Dakait’s convoy. The pickup truck passes through traffic and tackles rough terrain with ease during the pursuit. Talking about the details, the Isuzu D-Max is powered by a four-cylinder 1.9-litre turbo-diesel engine, producing close to 162 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque.
Tata Xenon
Apart from the other models used in the movie, the Tata Xenon also makes an appearance. This is where the production team slipped, as the Xenon was never sold in Pakistan. The truck is used in the movie to block Rehman’s escape and serves as the official vehicle of the Lyari Task Force.
The Pakistani car market has been heavily dependent on imports from Japan and other countries, apart from the Scorpio pickup, which was available in Pakistan for a short while. Due to this reason, the production team stripped the vehicles of their manufacturer badges.
Toyota Land Cruiser 60 Series
Rehman Dakait, the showstopper of the movie, is seen being driven around in a Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. This is a perfect choice, as these vehicles were heavily imported and exported around the world, making their presence in Pakistan plausible.

The Land Cruiser 60 Series was produced between 1980 and 1990. The vehicle was offered with manual and automatic gearboxes, along with solid leaf springs and a dependable 4WD system. These features made it well known for its durability and off-road strength.
