BYD India inaugurates its first passenger vehicle showroom in Delhi

New Delhi: BYD India has announced the opening of its first showroom in Delhi for passenger vehicles in India. The showroom will be managed by Landmark BYD and is BYD’s fourth dealership in the Indian market. Landmark BYD will offer buyers in the capital access to BYD electric vehicles.

The showroom was inaugurated by Garima Misra, Managing Director, Group Landmark, Rajiv Vohra, Director, Group Landmark, and Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Electric Passenger Vehicle Division, BYD India, in the presence of senior executives from BYD India and Landmark BYD.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, said: “The New Delhi NCR region is one of the key markets for BYD India.”

“New Delhi has huge potential for premium passenger vehicles and plans to install 18,000 more charging stations across the city by 2024. The goal is to have one station for every 15 electric vehicles in the city. EV industry and we strongly believe that BYD will be a major contributor to EV adoption in the EPV segments.

The new showroom at Okhla Industrial Hub includes trained technicians, service equipment, a service station, EV charging stations, a customer lounge and a showroom display area. The center is located in South Delhi on the border of Faridabad (Haryana) and Noida (Uttar Pradesh).

The Indian government is targeting 30% EV penetration for the PV segment by 2030 with a goal of net zero emissions by 2070. Based on these targets, BYD works closely with its partners to provide localized green products for the Indian market.
