Tata Motors cars, despite their weak design, excel in safety and have now entered the top 10 best-selling cars list in the country. While Maruti Suzuki cars remain the overall best sellers, they lag significantly in safety features. Notably, Tata’s compact SUV Punch outperformed all competitors and became the best-selling vehicle in the country in April this year.
Tata Punch achieved sales of 19,158 units in April this year, marking a significant increase from 10,394 units sold during the same period last year, indicating a year-on-year sales growth of 84.32%. The Punch held a market share of 12.43% in April.
Although the Maruti Suzuki Brezza is the most favored SUV, it fell short of surpassing Punch in sales. Last month, it sold 17,113 units, while even the highly popular Hyundai Creta couldn’t outsell Punch, with only 15,447 units sold.
