BMW Motorrad has unveiled its much anticipated R12 S globally. The R12 S is retro styled cafe-racer bike with air-cooled boxer twin engine. Here are the details.
BMW R12 S: Design
BMW has nailed the design with colour scheme contrasting with bright colours. This motorcycle resembles the old cafe-racers. The bar-end mirrors and the usage of chrome adding to its retro appeal. This new R12 S features a single seat setup along with the blacked-out elements in the engine adding to its visual appeal. This update is the new one-piece trellis steel main frame, compared to the previous two-part main frame. The new R12 S comes with 17-inch wire-spoked wheels along a fatty tyre at the rear. This motorcycle features USD forks and a mono shock at the rear. The front twin disc rotors sized 310 mm and the rear disc remains to be 265 mm. This new R12 S comes with a LED setup in headlights.

BMW R12 S: Powertrain & Price
The BMW R12 S has a boxer twin engine which delivers massive power. it is equipped with a 1197cc air cooled twin cylinder engine. This engine gives out a massive 109 bhp and 115nm of torque. It has a 6-speed gearbox along with drive shaft mechanism which drives the rear wheel.
For enhancing the safety, BMW offers various electronic features such as dual channel ABS, ride modes, engine brake control, hill hold, cruise control, heated grips, traction control and many more. However, there’s no official announcement about the launch in India. This R12 S is launched internationally in US and priced at $21,590 which is approximately Rs 18.26 lakh. Along with this, BMW Motorrad has announced a 3 per-cent price from January 2025.
