BMW, TVS Collaborate To Launch CE 02 Electric Scooter In India

It is anticipated that the CE 02 electric scooter will make its debut in India, possibly in 2024, with an affordable expected price.

Leading two-wheeler companies, BMW and TVS, have teamed up to make a significant impact on the Indian electric vehicle market. Their partnership has given birth to the CE 02 electric scooter, marking the first electric vehicle produced jointly by these two companies, who are already collaborators in the 310 motorcycle series.

The CE 02 electric scooter is being manufactured at TVS’ production facility in Tamil Nadu, India. While it is currently being exported to countries where its launch has been announced, it is slated to make its retail debut in the United States, with a price tag of $7,599.

In terms of features, the CE 02 is designed with cutting-edge technology. Its electric motor delivers a peak output of 11 kilowatts, equivalent to approximately 15 horsepower, and generates 55 Newton-meters of torque. It is powered by a 2-kilowatt battery pack that offers a range of around 56 miles on a single charge.

The CE 02 electric scooter aims to provide a seamless riding experience with features like multiple ride modes, LED lights, and a convenient USB port for device charging. To simplify parking, the scooter is equipped with a reverse gear and a keyless ignition system. Safety and technology are well-balanced, with a 3.5-inch full-color TFT display and standard ABS.

As for the Indian market, the official launch date has not been disclosed yet. However, it is anticipated that the CE 02 electric scooter will make its debut in India, possibly in 2024, with an expected price lower than its American counterpart.
