BMW To Unveil New 5 Series Long Wheelbase In India

BMW will launch the new 5 Series Long Wheelbase in India on July 24, 2024. The luxury sedan features a refreshed design, advanced technology, and expected powertrains, including a 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine.

BMW will launch the new 5 Series Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India on July 24, 2024. It marks the first exclusive introduction of the luxury sedan in long-wheelbase format for the Indian market and the debut of the right-hand-drive version. The refreshed design includes adaptive LED headlights, a larger kidney grille, and redesigned LED taillamps, enhancing road presence and interior space.

Inside, the 5 Series LWB offers a luxurious experience with advanced features. The cabin boasts a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch central touchscreen, and technology from the larger 7 Series, such as the optional Interaction Bar. Equipped with the latest iDrive 8.5 system, four-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, comfort and entertainment are ensured for all passengers.

Under the hood, the new 5 Series LWB will offer two powertrain options: a 2.0-litre petrol engine (530Li) and a 2.0-litre diesel engine (520Ld), both likely incorporating a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. These engines promise a blend of performance and efficiency, catering to luxury sedan buyers’ demands in India. Direct competition with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB and Audi A6 positions the new model as a strong contender in the luxury sedan segment.
