Bharat Mobility Expo Car Launches Disclosed: From Hyundai Creta Electric To MG Cyberster- Lack Of Affordable Vehicles To Haunt The Expo?

The Bharat Mobility Expo is just around the corner and visitors would have a delight visiting the show and witnessing some of the most high tech EV’ from all manufacturers. Hyundai, Honda, Mercedes, and KIA would be showcasing their new models for launches. But the lack of affordable EV’s still haunt the domestic market, Would there be a change soon? Visitors who seek to witness the Auto Expo would have to visit the Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan. Hall no 1,2,3,4,5,6 &14GF as well as 8,9,10,and 11 would all focus on the primary event, Auto Expo. Here are some of the vehicles that you would be able to witness.

MG Cyberster

The Cyberster is MG’s new sportscar that has been based on the MG B’s roadster that the brand used to sell from 1962 to 1980. The new Cyberster is going to have a convertible body with an all electric powertrain. As of yet its believed that the Cyberster would have a Two Seater roadster lay out with a Twin motor powertrain. Both the motors would power the rear as well as the front axle independently. MG has promised a power output of around 510 PS with a peak torque figure of around 725 Nm.

The KIA Syros was unveiled recently and is the second sub compact SUV from KIA. The prices of the model have been revealed and KIA has also started accepting the bookings of the vehicle. If you have been waiting to buy a new Sub compact SUV in the market this car would provide you with the profound blend of style and comfort with the reliability of KIA. The car would be decked out in all new features along with ADAS level 2 safety features. beyond that the car would be powered by a 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder engine which is a turbo petrol and puts out a horsepower of 120 Hp and peak torque of 172 nm. Interested buyers would be able to choose between a dct as well as a Manual Transmission.

Suzuki E Vitara

This would be Suzuki’s first fully electric vehicle in 2025. The E-Vitara, this vehicle has been set for launch earlier in January. E-Vitara would compete against the Hyundai Creta EV that is about to be launched in January as well. The car was earlier unveiled in Milan before being spotted while being tested in India. The SUV would be manufactured in the Maruti Gujarat manufacturing plant for the world over. The launch of the vehicle has been set for the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025 next month. Since Maruti is manufacturing for Toyota as well there could be a Toyota version of the same EV that would be launched later in the year.

Harrier EV

Harrier has been a successful vehicle for Tata since its launch and its EV version is expected to garner similar results for the brand. As of yet its clear that the EV variant would be powered by a Dual Motor AWD setup. For the entry level variants a single motor version would be made available as well. While the brand has not released any details about the battery size of the vehicle its apparent that the car would have a driving range of about 450-550 on a single full charge. The car would closely mimic the styling of the ICE Harrier.

Tata has significant plans to increase the vehicles in their EV line up and hence they would be soon be adding a EV Safari in their lineup as well. The new safari that is set to be launched 2025 would be a EV MPV with three row seating that is particular to the Safari Moniker. Safari would have similar EV credentials as that of the harrier with a driving range of around 400 to 500 km on a Single full charge.

Hyundai Creta EV

The brand has already been in the news with its EV launches such as the IONIQ 5 which won the green car of the year award. Now it seems to be gearing up to launch the new Creta EV. The EV is expected to borrow a lot of styling cues from the ICE variant of the Creta.

The vehicle would have a new façade with a EV spec grill that is a stand out feature of all EV vehicles. The vehicle would have a similar interior as that of the normal Creta, a new EV spec steering wheel along with new aero wheels. The car would have the same powertrain as that of the Kona EV, a 48 KWH battery pack that delivers a optimum output of 134 BHP and a peak torque figure of 255 NM.

This variant has been demarcated similarly as that of the BE 6. The 79 KWH battery pack would only be available from the pack two. The base spec of the XEV 9e would have a battery pack of around 59 KWH only that would be priced around 21.9 lakh Rs. The pack 2 with the 59 kwh battery pack would be priced around 23.40 lakh Rs, while the 79 KWH battery pack would be priced around Rs 24.90 lakh Rs. Beyond that the top of the line Pack 3 would cost your around 24.90 for the 59 KWH pack and around 30.50 lakh Rs for the top of the line 79 KWH battery pack.

Mahindra XUV400 EV/ XUV 4XO

The XUV 400 already received a update in 2024, but the vehicle is in talks of getting another update in 2025. The car would witness substantial design changes included a revised Split LED headlight, new alloy wheels and LED tail lights. Mahindra has not yet announced the battery pack that the car would use, its possible that the car might use similar battery pack as before. The older variant has was powered by a 34.5 KWH as well as a 39.5 KWH battery pack. These battery packs provide the vehicle with a range of around 375 to 456 km.

BYD Sealion 7

The car was launched in March 2024 in the Indian Market. The car has been based on BYD’s new platform the 3.0 EVo. It has been built from the ground up using the BYD’s blade battery technology. Sealion 7 is offered with both a RWD as well as a AWD set up. The vehicle would be made available with two battery packs such as the 82.5 kwh battery pack and a 91.3 KWH battery pack. While manufacturers like Tata have brought in affordable EV’s like the Tiago and Tigor no other current launch has been paced to provide for the affordable price range. While Manufacturers seem to be stuck in a dilemma of pushing EV’s or ICE versions, it seems affordable EV’s would soon be launched in the Indian market. Hyundai as well as several other manufacturers have shared plans about how they have taken decisive actions to convert ICE versions of the vehicles in EV’s.
