New Delhi: Two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto has discontinued the Pulsar 180, the popular model of its Pulsar series. Although, the company has not issued any official statement regarding this, but now this bike is not visible on the company’s official website. It has been removed from there. It is believed that Bajaj has taken this step due to its low demand. Significantly, the Pulsar series was first launched in 2001. The company had first launched the Pulsar 180 in India under the Pulsar series and since its launch, it received a good response from the customers. Its stylish look attracted a lot of people. In no time it had become an iconic model.
But in 2019, the Pulsar 180 was discontinued due to BS6-emission norms and was replaced by the Pulsar 180F. After this, in February 2021, the company relaunched the Pulsar 180 and replaced the 180F with it. Meanwhile, now once again the company has discontinued Pulsar 180. It may happen that the company is planning to bring some other model in its place and with the aim of creating space for the same, the company has discontinued the Pulsar 180.
The Pulsar 180 used to come with a 178.6cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine generated 17hp maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. It used to get a 5-speed gearbox. The Pulsar 180 got halogen headlamps, semi-digital instrument cluster, front telescopic forks, rear mono-shock and single-channel ABS. The bike used to get 280mm front disc and 230mm rear disc.
