Recently, the government has announced to reduce the FAME II subsidy for electric two-wheelers. Hence the 450X electric scooter has also become costlier by Rs 20,000. In such a situation, it is becoming difficult for the customers to buy an electric scooter. However, Ather seems to be in a mood to provide relief to the customers. The Indian electric two-wheeler company has finally announced the launch of an affordable electric scooter, the 450S.
At the moment, not much information has been received about the Ather 450S, but some things have definitely been revealed. The company has also released the teaser of the upcoming electric scooter on social media. Ather says that its top speed will be 90kmph. Let us tell you that the top speed of Ather 450X is also 90kmph.
Ather 450S Price
Ather has revealed the price of the upcoming electric scooter. The company has informed that the initial ex-showroom price of 450S will be Rs 1,29,999. At present, the details of its acceleration are not available. However, being cheaper it seems that it will not be as fast as the 450X. Compared to Ather 450S, its range will be 20 percent less.
Ather 450S Range
Ather Energy’s cheap electric scooter can come with a 3kWh battery pack. Once fully charged, this 450S scooter will travel 115 km. If the Ather maintains this performance, the true range of the 450S will be a little over 80km. After the Fame 2 subsidy, its starting ex-showroom price is Rs. 1.29 lakhs.
However, where state subsidy is available, its ex-showroom price can go up to Rs. 1.27 lakhs.
Design of Ather 450S
The ex-showroom price of Ather 450X is Rs 1.45-1.49 lakh. In this regard, the Ather 450S is Rs 15,000 cheaper than the 450X. The full picture of the electric scooter has not been shared in the teaser image. Only a glimpse has been seen, which shows that its design will probably be less than that of 450X.
