Aprilia India has largely been focusing on the Rs 457 and Tuono 457 of late; the company has dispatched the new Sr 175 scooter to select dealers ahead of its July launch. The New Sr 175 would replace the Sr 160. The Sr 175 would be powered by an all new air-cooled, 174.cc 3 valve, single cylinder motor. The increased capacity has been achieved by bigger Bore and the new engine that makes 12.92 Hp at 7,200rpm AND 14.14 Nm at 6000 rpm, which is an increase over the previous Sr 160’s 11.27 hp at 7,100 rpm and 13.44 Nm at 5300 rpm.
The Other mechanical components such as the frame, suspension, brake and tyres seem to be the same as that of those seen on the SR 160. The scooter would roll on 14 inch wheels at both the ends. Beyond that the vehicle would have single channel ABS owing to drum and brake at the rear.
The Change From
The new Sr175 would be equipped with a new color TFT Display, which seems to have been lifted from the Rs and Tuono 457. The animations and layout seem to be different. The display would have Bluetooth connectivity and users would be able to pair their smartphone with the scooter via the Aprilia App. This would be a big step from the dated looking LCD screen that comes with the SR and SXR models Currently.
Aprilia Sr 160 Price
As per a slew of recent media reports,it has been established that the Aprilia Sr 175 is priced at Rs 1.31 lakh. And this would be the same starting price as that of the outgoing SR160. The prices would range from Rs 1.32 lakh – Rs 1.42 lakh. However this is yet to be confirmed.
