With the increasing move towards sustainability and EV vehicle shift manufacturers have launched some of their most commendable EV vehicles in the market. In such a scenario How could Honda remain stay put. The brand has recently announced that as a step towards sustainability they have adapted all their vehicles to be E20 fuel certified. The manufacturer had done so to follow the new Mandate that would be set in motion with all the ICE vehicles manufactured on or after 1 of April 2025.
The E20 Certification
As per the new emission regulation norms that have been stipulated by the government, all ICE vehicles should have E20 compliance certification. Adhering to the mandate Honda has recently announced that they have made their entire Indian Portfolio E20 Certified. The vehicles that are a part of Honda clan currently would be the City Sedan, City e:Hev, Elevate SUV, and the All New Amaze Sedan. All of these vehicles from now on would be easily able to run on E20 Ethanol blend fuels, without any alterations to the powertrain.
Statement By Honda
Speaking on the auspicious occasion of the new certification Mr. Kunal Behl , Vice President, Marketing and sales, Honda Car Limited Said, that at Honda they are committed to driving sustainable mobility solutions and hence all the cars that are currently in their clan can easily run on ethanol. He further revealed that all their cars have been E20 fuels compatible since January 2009, giving the customers full freedom to adopt to new greener E20 fuels, without any modifications. As India moves towards a cleaner and more sustainable future, HCIL will continue to remain at the forefront.” In the international markets the flex fuel is 60 cents cheaper than normal gasoline, a better estimate would be possible once its readily available in India.
