New Delhi: Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor is about to bring a new SUV. This new car will be based on the company’s Corolla Cross. But its length will be more. A 7-seater configuration will be seen in it. This car will compete with cars like Mahindra XUV 700, Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Meridian in the Indian market. This new model will be based on the company’s modular TNGA-C platform. It will get FWD and AWD system.
How will this car be?
The company uses this TNGA-C platform for its compact cars, crossover SUVs and mid-size MPV unibody vehicles. The same platform has also been used by the company for its new Innova Highcross. Apart from this platform, the new Toyota 7-seater SUV may get the same powertrain as the Innova Highcross. It will come with an electrically operated tailgate and will also get flat foldable seats. The company can also make changes in its C and D pillars.

What will the powertrain be like?
Based on the Toyota Corollacross, the new 7-seater SUV could get a 2.0L, 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle and a 2.0L petrol engine option from the Innova Highcross. In which the first engine generates combined power of 184bhp with e-drive transmission. The second petrol engine, on the other hand, will come mated to a CVT gearbox and will be capable of generating 172 bhp power and 205 Nm torque. Both the engines could come with a front-wheel drive system. Its strong hybrid version returns a mileage of 23.24kmpl and the naturally aspirated petrol engine returns a mileage of 16.31kmpl.
Coming Soon Innova Crysta Diesel
Toyota is going to introduce the new Innova Crysta diesel model in the market in the next weeks. This model will get a 2.4L diesel engine compliant with the new RDE emission norms. This engine will be brought with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of generating torque of 343 Nm and maximum power of 105PS. Two drive modes like Eco and Power will be available in this MPV. 2023 Toyota Innova Crysta will come in 7 and 8 seater options and 5 color options.

Will compete with Mahindra XUV700
Toyota’s new Corollacross 7 seater SUV will compete with Mahindra’s XUV 700 after its launch in the Indian market. The car gets the option of both diesel and petrol engines. Also, this car is equipped with a lot of modern features and ADAS system.
