Huge Discounts Ahead On EV’s
As per a recent report by TOI, automakers like Tata, Mahindra, Ather Energy and Hero would offer huge discounts on their offerings soon. The reason behind the discount as per TOI was the stock up of vehicles in inventories.
The Report also mentioned that the manufacturers were offering such discounts to meet with the CAFE( Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency ) Norms. CAFE norms access and evaluate the entire lineup of a manufacturer rather than a single model.
Tata’s Official Word On The EV Price Reduction
Tata has officially announced that the discounts are being offered due to the benefit they have received as a manufacturer due to reduced battery prices. “Tata Motors has proactively taken a price reduction of up to Rs 3 lakh on the Nexon.EV, passing on the benefits of battery price reduction to its customers.” Beyond this no other brand has made any clarifications in the public sphere.
