The wait is over, the Sierra nameplate has been received back again, after a hiatus of two decades. The all-new Sierra will be placed below the Harrier but above the Curvv in the automaker’s lineup. The base engine of the Tata Sierra is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol mill with 106 hp and 145 Nm. It’s available with 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmissions, and there is the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine with direct injection, making close to 160hp and 255NM of peak torque. The car will be offered solely with a 6-speed torque converter and automatic gearbox.
The new Sierra also comes with a 1.5 litre four cylinder Turbo diesel engine, which develops 118hp. The maximum torque output of this mill would be 280 NM when mated to the 6-speed AT, dropping to 260Nm when paired with the 6-speed MT.
