New Delhi: The new generation Suzuki Swift is set to make its world debut in December 2022. The new hatchback model will also make its way to India sometime next year. There is speculation that the Indo-Japanese automaker might showcase the new Maruti Swift 2023 at the Delhi Auto Expo.
The biennial automotive event is set to begin on January 13 at the India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida. Official confirmation of his debut in India is yet to be made.
New Maruti Swift 2023
The hatchback is likely to receive significant cosmetic changes and feature enhancements. The new Maruti Swift 2023 will get a redesigned grille, an updated bumper with new C-shaped air splitters, wider and lower air intakes, sleeker headlamps with new LED elements and a new front fog lamp assembly.
The side profile will be redesigned with larger and a new set of two-tone alloy wheels, new body panels, artificial wheel arch vents, blacked-out pillars and a roof spoiler.
Unlike the current model which has rear door handles on the C-pillar, the new 2023 Maruti Swift will have door handles integrated on the doors. A few changes may also be made in the rear. The hatchback will be designed on a modified Heartect platform similar to the new Baleno hatchback. It is unlikely that there will be any changes in its dimensions.
The new Swift will continue to measure 3845mm in length, 1735mm in width and 1530mm in height with a wheelbase of 2450mm.
Interior upgrades may include a larger infotainment system (new SmartPlay Pro+) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Suzuki Voice Assistant and OTA (over-the-air updates). On selected global manufacturers, the new Swift could also be offered with a 360° camera, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Swift 2023 will come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with and without mild hybrid technology. The hatchback can be had with either a five-speed manual gearbox or an AMT gearbox. Globally, the new generation Suzuki Swift Sport will be offered with the powerful 1.4L Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine.
