New Delhi: The much-awaited 2023 Kia Seltos facelift has finally been unveiled at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. The new model comes with major changes in terms of styling and high-end features. The company has revealed the US version of the Seltos, which is expected to be launched in the first half of 2023.
Design
The new Seltos comes with a significantly redesigned front fascia with a larger tiger-like nose grille with full-projection LED headlamps. It comes with signature Star Map lighting across the front grille and a new front bumper that features vertically shaped fog lights integrated with daytime running lights.
The design of the rear lighting on the tailgate, together with the rear lamp and rear reflector on the lower bumper, mimic the characteristic lighting at the front.
Interior
It features a segment-first panoramic display that combines a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch center display. It gets a new 4.2-inch instrument cluster with improved digital gauge and new dashboard trim. It comes with 4 USB ports, power tailgate, ventilated front seats and Kia Connect – technology to connect to the car.
It features a 2 Touch digital key that allows customers to use their iPhone, Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy smart devices as a virtual vehicle key to lock, unlock and drive. These keys can be shared with friends and family via text messages on available devices. It also comes with Map & Infotainment Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.
X-line trim
This variant comes with an exclusive front grille design with bronze finish, uniquely designed 18-inch wheels, black bridge roof rack, gloss black door trim, X-Line logo and more.
The American model features a redesigned Gamma 1.6L turbo GDI four-cylinder engine that produces 195 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
It also has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder MPI engine that produces 147bhp and 179Nm of torque, mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The SUV offers 3 driving modes – Normal, Smart and Sport. The SUV comes with an on-demand active all-wheel drive system with a center differential that can split power equally between the front and rear wheels.
ADAS Tech
The new Seltos is also equipped with ADAS technology with features such as Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Monitor, Safe Exit Warning, Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Smart Cruise based on navigation Control, Highway Driving Assist and rear cross-traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.
