However, after the arrival of Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia, already existing contenders like Hyundai and Honda are busy updating their cars. In view of this, the new generation Verna gets a more aggressive look and it has been completely changed along with being equipped with a lot of technology. However, the City facelift will see very few changes and will see changes in the exterior and interior along with some feature upgrades.

Design comparison

In terms of styling, the Verna sports a very aggressive look with flat surfacing, split DRLs and headlamp set-up, which also has a coupe-like silhouette. While the City will come with a more upright sedan look, the facelift gets a new bumper design and a new headlamp/tail-lamp setup. The interiors will get an upgrade with new features which means that the car will try to give tough competition to the new Verna. Also, it is expected that the new Verna will get a completely new interior design with a large touchscreen and digital instrument cluster. In terms of features, both the cars will be offered with sunroof, ADAS features, connected car tech and much more. While the Verna will get dual powered seats along with some other features.

How will the engine be?

Talking about the engine, no diesel will be available with both the cars. The new Verna will get a 1.5 liter turbo petrol unit which is a completely new engine. This engine will be launched with 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual option. Along with this, it will also get a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will get manual and CVT transmission. While the new City will come with the 1.5L naturally aspirated engine as standard, the car will now be available in more trims in a strong hybrid version. Both these sedans will appeal to different categories of people depending on the needs of the customers.
