New Delhi: In May 2022, Jeep India introduced the three-row Meridian SUV priced between Rs 29.90 lakh – Rs 36.95 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Now the American SUV maker is gearing up to launch its next product and it will be the locally assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Just so you know, the new Grand Cherokee made its global debut in September 2021. It will be the brand’s fourth locally assembled offering after the Wrangler, Compass and Meridian.
Unlike the previous model, which was available with both petrol and diesel engines, the new model will only be available with a petrol engine. The new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be offered with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power and torque figures for the engine have not yet been released. The SUV will have a 4WD system with selectable off-road modes – Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand and Snow.
Several feature improvements will be made inside the cabin. The new Grand Cherokee will have a larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument display.
Features like leather upholstery, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, power tailgate, wireless charging pad, dual-zone AC control, steering wheel audio, power rearview mirror, cruise control, rear parking camera, height adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, front and rear armrest and more. In terms of styling, the new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will carry an evolutionary design language than the current model. Some of its parts will be inspired by the global-spec Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Meridian for India.
