New Delhi: History will never forget this tragic death of more than 30 children in last two days in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur, which also happens to be UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's constituency. In the meantime Congress is coming down heavily on the Yogi Adityanath government, " Considering he (Yogi Adityanath) is both MP and CM must take moral responsibility and step down, so should his Health Minister," says an angry Congress senior leader Manish Tewari .
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad called it a heart-wrenching incident and said that he was saddened by children's death adding that the incident has occurred due to state government carelessness. An angry Azad asked," Both Health Minister and Minister of Technical & Medical Education must resign. UP CM can't step back from duty. Must apologize to state."
Following the deaths of over 30 children at a Gorakhpur hospital, Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Siddhartha Nath Singh and Medical Education Minister Ashutosh Tandon left for the town on Saturday to review the situation.
The children at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital died over the past few days due to encephalitis after reported lack of oxygen supply in their wards.
The visit, officials informed, was to take stock of the situation at the ground level and also to prepare a detailed report.
The two Ministers, before leaving for the parliamentary constituency and hometown of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, apprised him of the situation.
