In third such incident in a week, another jilted lover, Neeraj Nagar, attacked and injured girl's mother and stabbed her neighbour at Khanpur locality under South Delhi area on Friday late.
According to police report, Neeraj reached Sonia's (name changed) house on Friday evening. He asked her family member to marry her with him. When they refused his proposal, he pulled out knife and attacked Sonia's mother. Hearing loud noise for help, a neighbour Jagat Singh rushed to the spot and tried to nab Neeraj.
An eyewitness claimed that Neeraj attacked Jagat and his wife with the same knife. Later, he managed to escape from the scene. Jagat died on the spot while, Sonia's mother and his wife were still struggling for life in hospital.
Just four days before a jilted lover killed five people in Delhi and Ghaziabad. In another incident, two friends went on a killing spree for about half-an-hour on Friday, firing at six people and, subsequently, shooting themselves in the Swaroop Nagar area of northwest Delhi.
Four people - including one of the killers, Rajveer Sharma and his daughter Khushi, were dead by Friday evening while the rest are critically injured and admitted in LNJP Hospital. Cops are yet to establish the motive for this macabre dance of death, but there is speculation that a property dispute, unrequited love and finally despair sparked it off.
