New Delhi:External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has warned Amazon that visas of its officials would be rescinded if it did not stop selling doormats featuring Indian flags, and issue an apology. Amazon Canada was selling these doormats.

“Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately,” the minister tweeted, ”If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We will also rescind the Visas issued earlier,” she said on Twitter

A Twitter user had brought the doormat issue to the notice of Sushma.

The External Affairs Minister also instructed the Indian High Commission in Canada to take up the matter with Amazon. (News24Bureau)
