SIT formed to probe the Nirbhaya-like Naubatpur rape

New Delhi, Oct 13: In quick succession two shameful incidents of rape have emerged from Bihar. While in the first case a college going girl was abducted, raped and thereafter she committed suicide as the villagers did not let the parents go and complain to the police.
The second was a Nibhaya-replay at Naubatpur near Patna, where a 35-yr-old woman died after a 22-yr-old man inserted an iron rod in her private parts after his attempts to rape her failed. The lady is mother of four children and was known to the man.
Following failed rape attempt, where she protested, the accused hit her with a stick and tried inserting an iron rod inside her private parts.
After the incident, the woman was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition and died there an hour after being admitted.
“The main accused, Dheeraj Paswan, has been arrested and the search is on for the other man. Dheeraj and the woman, a mother of four children, knew each other earlier,” said Prem Chauhan, the SHO of Naubatpur police station.
